Graduation/internship Controls Engineering | Design LLM-driven 'Virtual Site Engineer'
Internship opportunity in Controls Engineering focused on designing an LLM-driven 'Virtual Site Engineer' for predictive maintenance in industrial automation at RIWO in Oldenzaal. The project involves building a prototype that integrates real-time data via OPC UA/MQTT, uses RAG for contextualization, and generates action plans. Suitable for a student with a background in machine control, mechatronics, and industrial automation.

Core Qualifications
Technical (Must-have)
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build a prototype of a 'Virtual Site Engineer' AI agent that continuously analyses operational and semantic data to detect anomalies, identify causes, and suggest action plans
- Set up a pipeline to access real-time and historical data via OPC UA, MQTT, or directly from MES/ERP systems
- Implement a RAG architecture to supply the LLM with appropriate context (machine manuals, previous error reports) for increased diagnostic accuracy
- Develop a mechanism (e.g., an agentic workflow) that generates a sequence of actions based on the diagnosis
