Key Responsibilities

•Managing and oversight of all IfNSW statutory litigation including relevant authorization processes, referral of instructions to the legal panel, claims management actions, evidence requests, attending teleconferences and hearings, providing instructions and reporting outcomes.
•Provide sound advice on legislative, regulatory, legal, policy and guideline requirements affecting workers’ compensation claims to enable sound, evidence-based and legally accurate decision making.
•Managing, assisting, and reviewing legal advice including s151Z recovery litigation and litigated statutory workers’ compensation claims.
•Oversight of all legal referrals and advices (including general strategy advice and recovery)
•Review of and responding to legal mail as necessary
•Keeping up to date with case law and precedents affecting claims, premium and the scheme.
•Providing practical technical advice about strategic management, both generally and in relation to specific claims.
