Key Responsibilities

  • •Contribute to the design, implementation, and operation of Booking.com’s Business Intelligence Platform (e.g., Tableau, ThoughtSpot, Snowflake, and related services).
  • •Implement features and improvements for BI infrastructure in close collaboration with more senior engineers, following established design patterns and best practices.
  • •Support the migration from Tableau Server (on-prem) to Tableau Cloud (SaaS) by analysing existing content, executing migrations, validating results, and fixing issues.
  • •Build and maintain automation for deployments, monitoring, extract/refresh pipelines, housekeeping, and other infra/ops workflows.
  • •Develop and maintain data and platform services (e.g., APIs, jobs, scripts) using at least one modern programming language (such as Python, Java, Scala, or similar).
  • •Monitor platform health and performance, help investigate incidents, and participate in root cause analysis and follow-up improvements.
  • •Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, SREs, and security teams to integrate BI platforms with data sources, identity systems, and cloud infrastructure.
  • •Apply and support governance frameworks for content lifecycle, permissions, licensing, and cost optimisation.
  • •Produce clear documentation (runbooks, diagrams, how-to guides) to make platform usage and operations easier for internal users.
  • •Continuously grow your skills through hands-on engineering, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and participation in internal/external learning opportunities.
