Key Responsibilities
- Partner with teams throughout the product development lifecycle, advising on product design, new features and launches and helping teams understand and address applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide practical advice across relevant Australian laws and regulations, including consumer credit, privacy and other regulatory frameworks relevant to Zip's products and operations.
- Build trusted relationships with Product and Commercial teams, developing a strong understanding of their objectives and helping structure commercially sound solutions that can be effectively implemented.
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial arrangements, including strategic partnerships, merchant arrangements, marketing agreements, promotional terms and service provider agreements.
- Help translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical considerations for product design and commercial arrangements, supporting ongoing compliance once solutions are operationalised.
- Develop a deep understanding of Zip's products, customers, commercial priorities and regulatory environment to provide advice that considers the bigger picture.
- Identify legal and regulatory risks early, communicate them clearly and constructively challenge where needed while helping stakeholders find practical paths forward.
- Partner with external law firms where specialist advice is required, ensuring external support is focused, effective and commercially valuable.
- Contribute your expertise to strategic initiatives across Zip, collaborating with colleagues across Legal, Compliance and the wider business to solve complex and interesting challenges.
