- Translate optical sensing concepts into photonic solutions in an industrial context
- Define requirements, architecture, and technology development needs for photonic solutions
- Contribute to the photonics technology roadmap
- Identify concepts and address technology maturity

- Define experiments for evaluation of these PICs
- Work together with other researchers towards better understanding of the technologies
- Generate new ideas and solutions for current and future photonic solutions
- Build a network towards other parts of the organization and academia
