Key Responsibilities

•Build should-cost models from drawings: material, process, cycle time, machine rate, scrap, tooling, freight, duty.
•Challenge design specifications to reduce cost.
•Qualify suppliers based on capability, not just certificates.
•Interrogate lead time and capacity.
•Negotiate price and terms (tooling ownership, MOQ, change control, payment terms).
•Build fallback sources for critical parts.
•Investigate quality drifts and work with Quality and Engineering.
•Source for new product development: RFQs, audits, qualification, negotiation.
